Native to the African savannah, the Baobab is a beautiful and distinctive tree growing up to 25 metres high and supported by a massive root system to see it through any drought.

It is truly a tree of life - animals eat the leaves, people eat the fruit and make clothes from the fibrous parts.

And the hollow trunks provide protection in bad weather.

This work shows the effect they have on the landscape.
